Abstract

This research paper aims to shed light on the project presented by the Pakistani Islamic thinker Fazlur Rahman (1919-1988) in an attempt to present an approach to Islamic dealing with the wave of Western modernity that swept the entire world, such that it imposed itself as a central issue on the Islamic mind in the eighteenth century. Since then, Fadl al-Rahman’s main concern has been to consider the nature of this Western modernist project and the developments it brought, as well as determining his position on it and how to respond to it, or more precisely how to modernize the structure of Islamic thought and develop its methods, by looking at Islam according to a rational perspective that contemplates its past. And its present and monitors its future in anticipation and anticipation of a future that is compatible with the outcomes and requirements of this technological age To ensure the achievement of convergence, integration and adaptation between Islamic religious texts and the principles of modernity in order to guide the entire nation out of this maze in which it is floundering
