The Issue of humanitarian intervention and its effects on the sovereign logic of states
Main Article Content
Abstract
The issue of human rights has witnessed a great development, as they are no longer subject to the protection of internal authority of the state only, but rather have become an international affair that has been regulated through various international legal rules, in addition to the impact of this development in the emergence of the so-called right of states to control the extent to which other states respect the issue of human rights. As a result of these developments, it has become common for some powers to intervene militarily in other states, with the aim of suppressing the violations of human rights. Others worked on the pretext that this intervention should be based on a decision issued by the Security Council in accordance with the provisions of Chapter VII of the Charter. These justifications for intervening has developed to the idea of duty, then to the responsibility of the international protection of civilians, so this study attempts to address the problem of humanitarian intervention and its effects on the sovereign logic of states.
