Abstract

The stages of transition constitute decisive turning points in the history of peoples who have experienced civil wars or authoritarian regimes, which inevitably lead to the erosion of human rights or the commission of war crimes. These transitional stages make it possible to make efforts to compensate the victims, by turning the page on a violent past, and open the door to a change for the better, the mechanisms of transitional justice represent one of the means of achieving this objective and to facilitate the process of transition, tolerating this dark past without erasing it or trying to forget it, because it provides lessons for mistakes that should be avoided.
