The Mauritanian Constitutional Council and Election Monitoring

Abstract
This research aims to study the role of the Mauritanian Constitutional Council in the elections to know the level of monitoring that it performs in the presence of the Independent Elections Committee, and the monitoring role exercised by the Supreme Court in some electoral disputes. The study concluded that the Constitutional Council represents the judge of the parliamentary and presidential elections, but it dominates the presidential elections completely, while interfering in the parliamentary elections to decide disputes about them.
