The Explanatory Jurisdiction of the Algerian Constitutional Court within Constitution 2020
Main Article Content
Abstract
The majority of the world’s constitutions did not refer to the authority concerned with interpreting the constitution, and it had been the same case with the constitutional judiciary in Algeria until the last constitutional amendment of 2020, which referred to the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court to interpret the constitution, an original and absolute jurisdiction, based on a notification from the constitutionally authorized authorities to raise the constitutional issue with the exception of individuals. This process results in issuing an opinion on the meaning of a particular constitutional provision.
