Development of Alternative Energy Resources for Algeria's Electricity Generation

Abstract

This paper sheds light on the Algerian potential and resources of the alternative and renewable energies and on the government’s endeavor in creating a legal institutional and regulatory atmosphere; since the alternative energies are promising choices for renewable and sustainable electricity generation. Algeria set objectives for electricity generation which it aims at reaching through an ambitious national program of renewable energies and energy efficiency in 2011. It had been updated in 2015 aiming at reaching 22000 Mega Whatt in 2030; 27% of it will be for electricity generation
