New Arab Liberals’ Role in the Middle East Change Process
Main Article Content
Abstract
The new Arab liberals emerged in the wake of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, due to their positions in favor of foreign intervention and their attack on Islamic religion in what appeared to be a new trend that sparked controversy in the Middle East, due to its collision with the prevailing values in it. This paper aims to define the role that they play; given the nature of ideas that they promote and that drive a pattern of change that seems consistent with the foreign projects that have targeted the region in order to change its systems.
