Templates for Manuscripts and Declarations

Templates are central to Passerelle's editorial workflow. They ensure that all manuscripts follow the journal's technical standards and that key declarations respect our transparency and ethics policies. Please use the templates below exactly as indicated.

1. Official Manuscript Templates (Mandatory)

Manuscripts submitted to Passerelle must be written in one of our accepted languages and formatted exactly as shown in the official template for that language. These files contain all technical rules for a valid submission.

Download the Manuscript Template

Please download the template in the language of your manuscript and work directly in that file.

The Manuscript Template Includes All Formatting Rules

Please consult the template file directly for detailed instructions on:

  • Page Layout: Required margins, page size (17x24cm), and page settings.
  • Font & Style: Correct use of Times New Roman, font sizes, and line spacing.
  • Manuscript Structure: Order of Title, Author information, Abstract, Keywords, and main Body.
  • Headings: Pre-defined styles and numbering for up to three heading levels.
  • Tables & Figures: Centering, numbering, captions, and color requirements.
  • Citation Style: In-text and block-quote formatting (author–page–date).
  • Reference List: Examples for books, journal articles, chapters, and online sources.

Note: Failure to use the official template and follow its rules will result in your article being returned before review.

2. In-Manuscript Declaration Templates

Certain ethical and transparency statements are mandatory. They must appear as separate sections inside your manuscript, placed immediately before the References section. The text below provides structural templates: you must keep their format and headings, while adapting the content to your specific situation.

2.1 Funding Statement

You must declare all sources of financial support. Please select and adapt one of the following templates and insert it under the heading Funding Statement.

Template 1 (Funded Research):

Funding Statement
This research was supported by [Name of Funding Agency/Institution] under Grant/Award Number [Insert Grant Number, e.g., XYZ-2025-XXXX].

Template 2 (Unfunded Research):

Funding Statement
This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.
2.2 Declaration of Competing Interests (COI)

You must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest. Choose one of the templates below and place it under the heading Declaration of Competing Interests.

Template 1 (No Conflicts):

Declaration of Competing Interests
The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper.

Template 2 (Conflicts Declared):

Declaration of Competing Interests
[Authors must adapt this section to provide a clear and comprehensive disclosure of all relevant interests. See COI Policy for examples.]

2.3 Data Availability Statement (DAS)

A Data Availability Statement is mandatory for all submissions. You must select and adapt one of the official templates provided in the journal's Data Sharing Policy and place it under the heading Data Availability Statement.

Example (Template 1: Data Openly Available):

Data Availability Statement
The data, code, and materials supporting the findings of this study are openly available in [Repository Name] at [Persistent URL/DOI].

→ See all templates in our Data Sharing Policy

2.4 Declaration of Generative AI Use

If you used Generative AI tools (for example, ChatGPT) for anything beyond basic spell-checking, you must include the following declaration under the heading Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process. AI tools cannot be listed as authors.

Required Template:

Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process
During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME OF AI TOOL] in order to [STATE THE EXACT PURPOSE]. After using this tool, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take full responsibility for the content of the publication.

→ Read our full Generative AI Policy

Reminder: All four declarations (Funding, Competing Interests, Data Availability, and Generative AI use when applicable) must appear inside the manuscript template, immediately before the References section. Separate upload of declaration files is not required.

3. Post-Acceptance Template

After your article has been accepted, you must complete and sign a separate template that formalizes originality and copyright transfer. Publication cannot proceed without this document.

Declaration of Originality and Copyright

This document constitutes a declaration of originality and assignment of copyright. It must be signed and dated before being sent to Passerelle, together with the final edited version of the article. Failure to send this document duly signed and dated will result in the article not being published. This publication agreement is binding on:
