Abstract

Citizenship Values between the Local Perception and Its Universal Concept at the Level of Perception and Practice among Arab-Islamic Societies

is one of the major problematic concepts known to our Arab societies, because it has no direct impact on the relations of individuals (citizens) with society and the state alike, and since this concept is from a different Western civilization and (controlling) it raises a kind of challenge and resistance on the one hand and, on the other hand, imposes a kind of adoption and environment. The source of compatibility or conflict lies in what is universal and what is local. Since the concept of citizenship is the product of the historical and cultural contexts of a Western civilization different from Arab-Islamic privacy, it has become a bet and challenges that exist daily and live in Arab-Islamic individuals and societies as faced by the states and governments of these societies. Are the values of citizenship one and united or are they diverse and different in different societies and cultures? Is there a single model of citizenship or are there many models for it? Key words: citizenship, adoption, conflict, coexistence, privacy.

Keywords : citizenship, universality, specificity, opposition, coexistence
