Sidi al-Haj’s Story between irony and reality
Abstract
In this paper, we attempt to highlight some of the features of the short story, namely its structure and the message it addresses to the reader. A short story is a writing characterized by brevity, simplicity and conciseness. It is aimed primarily at a present reader who starts to read it in harmony with all its elements. If the rupture occurs, the recipient moves to the novel to satisfy an artistic and aesthetic thirst the short story could not achieve. The story dealt with here is by Reda Houhou, from his collection "Human Models". Entitled Sidi El Hajj , it is a model for reformist stories, as its author portrayed the religious hypocrisy revealed by religious texts alongside literary texts.
