Les Constructions Asyndétiques Entre Parataxe Et Inférence
Abstract
This article will focus more specifically on inter-propositional relations within the complex sentence by juxtaposition, which corresponds to "a phenomenon of implicit subordination". In other words, the constituent propositions A and B are not linked explicitly by a connector. This creates a semantic break in the sentence due to the absence of syntactic cohesion. In this case, in order to maximise relevance and ensure a kind of semantic-logical salience and completeness between the two juxtaposed propositions, the reader (the interpreter) is invited, via inferential instructions and the cognitive environment, to infer the appropriate predicate-connector that will enable him to fill the gap and decipher the exact meaning of the sentence. It should also be noted that this work will be carried out on a phrasal corpus taken from the electronic newspaper Le Monde 2005 using Antconc software
