The Wind of South((Monsoon Wind) novel by Abdel Hamid Benhadouga between the initial idea and the topic's comprehensiveness.
Abstract
The South Wind is arguably believed to have established the preliminary building blocks of the Algerian literature. It is similarly regarded as a key reference for the vast majority of researchers interested in the historical aspect of the Algerian literature owing to the fact that it endows them with the opportunity to explore the historical period their research is interested in uncovering, that is, postIndependence Algeria. Our research preoccupations will, based on the novel’s ideas, touch upon the structural aspect thereof, more particularly its topic and theme. Is there any sort of peculiar in Benhadouga’s narrative? Do we really find receptibility and harmony between the novel’s theme and what the Arabic reader expects to receive from it? Given this, we shall seek to look at the relationships existing between the novelist’s thinking mechanisms, on the one hand, and the artistic and aesthetic aspects, on the other. We shall also base our analysis on authoritative philosophical, theological and literary resources that Benhadouga utilized in the selection and presentation processes. The research will furthermore dwell on the different resources that the novelist accepted or discarded from informing his literary work, such as old legacies, female voices, renewal and change, to name just a few.
