Abstract

Russian music is one of the most important and oldest in the world. It is characterized by a wide variety of vocal performances, especially polyphonic ones. Russian music has a diverse artistic history spanning several centuries, influenced by many cultural and historical factors of the XIX century.
Russian music combines past and present productions related to traditional and folk music. Russian music has produced outstanding personalities who are called the pillars of Russian music, such as Tchaikovsky, Korsakov, Rimsky-Korsakovsky and others.
