Author Manuscript Deposition Policy

Institutional Repositories & Open Access Compliance

Scope & Purpose

This policy outlines the guidelines for authors wishing to deposit versions of their research work in institutional or other repositories of their choice. This aligns with Traduction et Langues' commitment to promoting open access, increasing the visibility of research outputs, and ensuring compliance with academic requirements. The policy applies to all authors who publish in our journal and who wish to deposit their research manuscripts (preprints, postprints, or final published versions) in publicly accessible repositories.

Depository Options

Authors are encouraged to deposit their work in any repository that aligns with academic requirements and institutional policies. Below are some repositories that authors can use to share their research outputs:

1. Institutional Repositories

These repositories are hosted by universities, research institutes, and organizations to store and share their researchers' work. They often comply with the institution’s open access policies and may host a wide range of academic outputs. Authors can share their research in their national repository or other institutional repositories, like:

University of Cambridge Repository (UK) • Harvard DASH (USA) • MIT Open Access Articles (USA) • University of California eScholarship (USA) • Oxford Research Archive (ORA) (UK)

2. General/Open Access Repositories

Authors are encouraged to deposit their work in General/Open Access Repositories. These repositories are discipline-neutral and host a variety of research outputs from across the globe, ensuring free access to academic works. We recommend the following:

SSRN: Preprints and papers in social sciences. • Zenodo: Multidisciplinary repository managed by CERN.

3. Subject-Specific

Focuses on specialized sharing. Recommended: HAL (Humanities/Social Sciences) and E-LIS (Library and Information Science).

4. International Platforms

Global networking: ResearchGate, Academia.edu, Mendeley Data, figshare, and OSF.

5. Regional/Localized Repositories

These repositories serve specific regions and fulfill local mandates. Regional platforms serve as key indexing platforms for Traduction et Langues. Our journal is indexed in Sherpa Romeo and Mir@bel, ensuring visibility. We encourage deposition in Mir@bel, SciELO, ANDS, and Digital.CSIC.

Types of Manuscripts

  • Preprints: Unpublished versions prior to peer review.
  • Postprints: Peer-reviewed versions before final layout.
  • Final Published Version: The formatted version as it appears in the journal.

Time of Deposit

  • Authors are free to deposit manuscripts at any point.
  • Preprints may be deposited prior to submission.
  • Postprints/Final Versions may be deposited after acceptance.

Compliance & Metadata

Authors must ensure deposits comply with Traduction et Langues agreements. Please verify via Open Policy Finder. Deposits must include accurate metadata: Title, Abstract, Author list, Institutional emails, ORCID, and Publication date. Version type must be clearly indicated.

This policy supports the open dissemination of research outputs and facilitates authors' compliance with Traduction et Langues publisher requirements for manuscript deposition. We encourage authors to take full advantage of these repositories to increase the accessibility and impact of their work, contributing to the global exchange of knowledge in the fields of translation and languages.
