Ideological and Thematic Specificity of Anton Chekhov's Stories

The literary works of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov have garnered significant attention from researchers and critics, sparking numerous questions about his
place in Russian classical literature during the last century. This has led to him being bestowed with several titles that reflect his stature in the literary world: Master of the Short Story, Genius of Satire, Doctor of Literature, and Pioneer of Realist. His short stories are distinguished by an objectivity that reflects the depth of his artistic experience.
Based on our analysis of Chekhov’s texts in light of contemporary critical approaches, we have identified the artistic characteristics of his short stories, which focus on the connection between subjectivity and objectivity in a unique narrative style
