Generative AI (GenAI) Policy

Transparency, Ethics, and Responsibility in Scientific Research

1. Purpose of the Policy

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the use of generative artificial intelligence technologies (such as ChatGPT, OpenAI tools, etc.) is transparent, ethical, and responsible in the preparation, review, and publication of research in Silsilat Al-Anwar Journal. We aim to promote progress in academic research while preserving the integrity and credibility of the scientific publishing process.

2. Use of AI in Research Preparation

Authors may use AI tools to assist in specific stages such as:

  • Relevant Resources: Assisting in identifying key topics or suggesting potential scientific sources.
  • Language Enhancement: Correcting grammar, improving sentence structure, or ensuring stylistic consistency.
  • Idea Generation: Brainstorming and exploring research models or hypotheses.

Mandatory Disclosure: Authors must disclose any content generated by AI (text, data analysis, or images) in accordance with the journal's approved disclosure templates.

3. Ethical Considerations and Responsible Use

  • Transparency: Explicit disclosure of the AI tools used is mandatory.
  • Data Privacy: Any data processing via AI tools must comply with ethical standards and data protection laws.
  • Originality: AI should enhance and not replace the author's original thinking. AI tools cannot be listed as an "author" of the research.

4. Prohibited Uses of Generative AI

The use of AI tools is strictly prohibited in the following cases:

  • Falsifying data, results, or bibliographic references.
  • Producing misleading or false research conclusions.
  • Generating content that violates copyright or ethical research standards.

Any violation of these prohibitions will subject the research to automatic rejection or retraction, with the potential for administrative sanctions.

5. Sample Disclosure Statement

Authors are required to include a statement in their research. Example:

"The author(s) declare that generative AI was used exclusively to assist with language editing and stylistic improvement. No AI tools were employed in data analysis or the formulation of substantive arguments, which remain the sole responsibility of the author(s)."
