Abstract

Language and communication are two concepts that occupy a prominent place in contemporary Western thought in general, and in the thought of Claude Lévi-Strauss in particular, who tried to reveal the importance of language as a part of culture. This is because language is a human activity whose goal is communication between individuals and the cultures of peoples in order to build a developed society with its basic pillars represented in cultural exchange and openness to the other, in order to create a culture of dialogue in addressing issues related to human life, and by giving a new vision of our culture that responds to the present and future needs of humanity. Cultural communication has an effective role in building and organizing societies, transmitting culture, and managing the affairs of science and knowledge. This is what Lévi-Strauss tried to address through his discussion of the problem of culture, emphasizing human and cultural communication between peoples, which has become an objective global phenomenon that cannot be ignored because it has contributed to creating cultural, economic, and social relations through the mechanisms of acculturation.
