Abstract

This research paper aims to shed light on a contemporary and thorny problem, namely the problem of culture, about which thinkers and philosophers have been expressing their opinions. The Algerian philosopher Malek Bennabi was among them, if not the most prominent of them. Bennabi was able to give another concept of culture, preserving its Islamic religious dimension, thus establishing a contemporary theory of culture, which derives its components from the reality of the Arab peoples, far from blindly imitating the West. Bennabi also established for culture a set of necessary elements on which culture is built, which are represented in ethics, beauty, practical logic and industry. All these elements, according to him, highlight the culture of society and preserve it.
