Abstract

This research paper aims to offer a critical and insightful perspective on the semiotics of communication systems within the philosophy of Roland Barthes. Therefore, through this approach, we will analyze a highly significant social system that occupies a central place in current semiotic studies: the "cinematic image." This analysis will be conducted as a model that involves a thorough deconstruction of some key concepts. Based on this premise, Barthes, in his review of popular culture, relied on examining issues of reality within everyday life as a step towards explaining the hidden causes and truths underlying coded symbolic discourses, which manifest themselves in a mythical form.
