Abstract

This intervention analyzes the problem of the body throughout its history, especially in contemporary Western thought, where Nietzsche called it the "great mind" and restored its importance, because throughout its history it has remained associated with sin and as a symbol of relativity and mortality. Merleau-Ponty made it one of his phenomenological and philosophical statements, to show us that there is a difference between the objective body and the particular body, between the biological body and the philosophical body. From here we pose the following question: What is the phenomenological and philosophical body according to Merleau-Ponty? And how can existence be understood through the idea of the body? And what are its functions?
