Abstract

Given the fragmented nature of studies in science in general, and in the humanities and social sciences in particular, fostered by a system of simplification and reductionism, a call has emerged for a new way of thinking that transcends narrow specializations and ensures a free exchange of concepts between disciplines. This allows for the openness of scientific disciplines to one another, including physics, mathematics, biology, linguistics, political science, and others. Ultimately, this leads to the necessity of a new epistemology, distinct from classical epistemologies, in which the sciences of physics, biology, and the humanities, such as sociology and psychology with their diverse specializations, intersect and engage in dialogue. This epistemology is none other than dialogical epistemology, based on interdisciplinary approaches and encyclopedic knowledge. In this article, we will attempt to outline the fundamental features of this dialogical epistemology, taking Edgar Morin's vision as a model for study.
