Abstract

The development of societies and the widespread adoption of information and communication technologies have created a need for a science dedicated to studying the phenomena resulting from the impact of these technologies on individuals and society. This field of knowledge (media and communication studies) is considered a multidisciplinary science due to its intersection with other disciplines. It has adopted technological tools from the technical sciences and methodologies, research approaches, and theories from the humanities that contribute to explaining communication and media phenomena.
