Abstract

It is no wonder that communication is the most central concept in contemporary German sociology. For Habermas and Niklas Luhmann, it represents a paradigmatic shift, or a communicative shift. This means that the concept of communication has become essential for describing and analyzing social structures, with language representing the highest form of communication. Roman Jakobson attributed six basic functions to language, summarizing the levels of communication and practice: the expressive function, the referential function, the conative function, the poetic function, and the metalanguistic function. Communicative reason is an activity that transcends the egocentric and closed holistic mind; it is more efficient and modern. Communicative activity seeks to establish conditions, and language, as a means of communication between individuals, operates within a system of dialogue based on evidence and rational arguments. Communicative activity seeks to establish conditions. Language, as a means of communication between individuals, operates within a system of dialogue based on evidence and rational arguments. This makes it more efficient and modern. Communicative activity aims to establish conditions for communication, paving the way for liberation from the philosophy of the self and transcending traditional conceptions of the world. The concept of communication as a scientific theory was first realized with the American George Herbert Mead and his theory of symbolic interaction. Mead advocated the idea that communication is the founding principle of society. He understands communication as the intervention of the other in the formation and construction of the self or identity. The self, in the transcendental, self-sufficient sense, has no place in the world of communication. In his view, consciousness is a potential, not a pre-existing construct. Consciousness cannot be realized outside of social interaction, outside of communication, and independently of the rest of society. Therefore, in his communicative project, has Habermas succeeded in constructing a linguistic argumentative thesis that brings together conflicting parties through an innocent dialogue, free from the manipulation of citizens' desires by media professionals? Can translation achieve cultural consensus and transcend ontological differences? And what is the role of translation in achieving social and cognitive communication?
