Abstract
This study aims to highlight the position of the French epistemologist and historian of science, Michel Serres, on a matter central to his philosophy: interdisciplinary communication. According to Serres, the separation of scientific disciplines, whether exact or human, does not reflect the reality and nature of contemporary science, whose convergence has led to the emergence of new fields such as cybernetics and computer science—scientific branches arising from the intersection of several disciplines. For Serres, interdisciplinary communication takes many forms, including translation, transfer, export, import, and exchange—concepts that express moments of intersection and dialogue between scientific disciplines, and even within a single discipline.
