Abstract

Habermas's theory of communicative action has been a pivotal contemporary philosophical milestone in establishing the concept of tolerance and its practical application in human life at all levels. This tolerance, previously linked to the religious sphere, has now expanded to encompass cultural rights. Through it, we seek to resolve the identity crisis and manage cultural differences. It has moved beyond theoretical reflections and become intertwined with the legal and institutional realms, intrinsically linked to the entire democratic process. This article addresses the challenge of understanding and justifying Habermas's concept of tolerance in societies characterized by diverse and often conflicting worldviews, detailing and clarifying the contexts of both justification and tolerance itself.
