Abstract
Work in Adam Smith's Philosophy
The subject of work is of great importance in the philosophy of Adam Smith, as he considers it the basis of all wealth. Even compared to the treasures that nature gives us, both inside and outside, because they remain primary resources that do not meet human needs without human intervention that reconfigures them in accordance with human needs and desires.
Adam Smith set out to give this direction to action; A conceptual arsenal (the hidden hand, self-interest, the wealth of nations...etc), we seek through this intervention to explain it, based on its concept of work and then the importance of dividing it and the various mechanisms that organize it and prevent conflicts of personal interests in the public; Laws that curb the consequences of the unbridled desire to achieve self-interest; from chaos and injustice, and make it a factor in order to achieve the public interest, which allows the normal functioning of society.
