Work and the basic Tunisian personality: Historical anthropology approach and current questions

Abstract:This article deals with the value of work within the cultural traits of the basic Tunisian personality within the framework of a historical anthropological approach.

Despite the presence and manifestation of this value among the general features of one of the Tunisian social models, it has remained limited and concealed in the face of other pressing, dominant and competing cultural elements.

This growing discrepancy in the value of Work has continued to deteriorate due to the persistence of the productive contexts of practices and mentalities that are somehow revealed by memory products throughout history, as well as current cultural and political practices.

Keywords:Work, Basic personality, Tunisia, History, Cultural Anthropology
