SLLE is a DORA Signatory
As part of its dedication to upholding rigorous academic standards and ethical publishing practices, Studies in Linguistics and Language Education (SLLE) has signed the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), reaffirming its commitment to fair, responsible, and equitable research evaluation.
What Does Signing DORA Mean for SLLE?
By endorsing DORA, SLLE pledges to:
✔ Promote responsible research assessment by supporting a diverse range of metrics that fairly reflect the quality and impact of scholarly work.
✔ Encourage transparency and inclusivity by maintaining an open referencing policy, enabling authors to include as many references as necessary to strengthen their research.
✔ Prioritise original contributions by actively encouraging the citation of primary research papers over reviews, highlighting the value of original scholarship in advancing knowledge.
What is DORA?
The San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) was launched on December 16, 2012, at the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) in San Francisco, California. Its mission is to improve how research outputs are evaluated by moving beyond narrow impact metrics and fostering more meaningful and comprehensive assessment practices.
