Abstract
How is the relationship between the philosophical and the cinematic organized in Deleuze's work? And how does the encounter with cinema on the aesthetic, logical, and ethico-political levels constitute a crucial turning point in Deleuze's treatment of the question of the image of thought, a question he has been approaching since his first writings on Nietzsche and Proust until his last writings, especially What is Philosophy? Finally, if the concept of creativity is the creation of the new through an innovative link between the present and the virtual, and if "crystal," as the Deleuze alternative to the concept of imagination, is precisely what expresses this link, then what is the status of the image-crystal in Deleuze's vision of cinematic creativity, artistic creativity, and creativity simply in its unbroken intertwining with resistance, and thus in the radical engagement in a different revolutionary thought and within a different modernity?
