Abstract
More than two decades after the Amazigh language "stormed" the programming of Algerian television (in the early 1990s), amidst the political circumstances Algeria was experiencing, it was no longer merely a topic for discussion and debate. Those responsible for its programming sought to highlight aspects related to the customs and traditions of specific regions of the country, thus transforming it into a symbol of cultural diversity and tangible and intangible heritage. It transcended the notion of confining it to "traditional clothing," silver jewelry, and "Twizat" (a type of traditional craft) embraced by one group or another. Instead, it became a universal language defending the unique characteristics of Algerian society and its rich cultural heritage, which represents a major tourist attraction once the relevant authorities recognize its value and the need to promote it. This analytical study examines the role of media in reviving and preserving Algerian heritage, particularly Amazigh heritage, as it represents cultural diversity in Algeria and is part of the national identity. Therefore, we will attempt to answer the following questions: - What are the most important characteristics of Amazigh cultural heritage in Algeria? - What are the most important components of Amazigh cultural heritage in Algeria? - Does the media, in its various forms, contribute to reviving Amazigh culture? What is the Amazigh cultural heritage in Algeria? - Have social media platforms contributed to promoting Amazigh cultural heritage in Algeria?
