Leadership Styles At The Center Of Diverse Organizational Contexts: survey of CEVITAL employees

Abstract:

The present study implements the relationships between the various styles of leadership, and its impact on the promotion of the cohesion of the work teams within the agri-food company CEVITAL of the wilaya of Bejaia in Algeria. In total, 63 salaried CEVITAL participants were asked to complete the questionnaire which leads us to assess leadership styles, and their role in the trajectory of promoting the cohesion of work teams through a set of questions and confrontation of theories of command styles with the reality on the ground by analyzing the trajectory of strengthening the cohesion of work teams. The results showed several realities starting with the importance and the advantage of democratic style compared to other styles of command arriving at the vitality to adapt to the different situations and context of the company demonstrated mainly by the situational theory leadership; This study demonstrates that the style of leadership has a direct impact on the functioning of the process of promoting the cohesion of work teams; However, certain leadership styles such as the laissez-faire leadership style had a significant negative relationship with performance in general and team cohesion in particular.
