Un Bibliothécaire En Mal De Livres Algériens

Abstract

I was invited to speak in my capacity as head of a Social Sciences Documentation Center. The center I direct, CDES, specializes in the Social Sciences: economics, sociology, law, history, philosophy, psychology, communication studies, and political science. It holds 30,000 books, about a third of which are in Arabic, and has just under 3,000 subscribers, ranging from first-year undergraduates to master's and doctoral students (approximately 300) and about 300 faculty members.
