Abstract

Undoubtedly, there are many significant historical milestones that have left a profound and complex impact on all aspects of Palestinian life—political, social, and economic—and have played a key role in shaping Palestinian feminist discourse and defining its features. This discourse has gradually evolved alongside the Palestinian feminist movement, which itself has passed through several phases. Each phase is distinguished by its own characteristics, the details of which were determined by successive events within the Palestinian historical context, of which the feminist movement was an integral part. Therefore, understanding the essence of Palestinian feminist discourse and the nature of its structural features requires tracing the historical path of the Palestinian feminist movement and examining the most prominent milestones that contributed to shaping a Palestinian feminist discourse. This discourse varies according to the political, economic, and social circumstances in which the Palestinian feminist movement arose, and which, from its inception, has been linked to the Palestinian national movement in its struggle against the Israeli occupation.
