Abstract

Arab critical discourse touched on the issue of privacy and difference in feminist writing in the context of its presentation of the problem of “feminist literature.” It did not make the legitimacy of gender difference and its effect on the act of writing an independent study that seeks to extrapolate the distinctive signs and indications of feminist creativity and what is based on it in terms of intellectual perspectives and aesthetic systems. This is because the majority of this critical discourse is practiced by men who, under the pressure of a centralized patriarchal ideology, tried to discuss feminist writing from the perspective of equality standards at the expense of privacy. This formed an epistemological obstacle for it in light of the almost total absence of feminist critical practice, which we find among a few women, represented by “Yumna al-Eid” and “Khalida Said” in the Arab East, “Fatima al-Zahra Ouzrouil” and “Rachida Ben Messaoud” in Morocco, and “Zineb al-Aouj” from Algeria.
