Abstract

From the axis of the self to the broader space of identity, where she weaves her existential issues and strategies for aesthetically reconstructing the world, and from the wellspring of memory she illuminates the dark areas of the Algerian female self. Through the duality of self and other, she evokes the heated debate that translates the pain of Arab women across the various years of the past and into the present. For despite the expansion of cultures and civilizations, and despite their interconnection and fusion through modern means of communication, the pain of Arab women remains, extending as long as their gender and Arab identity endure.
