Abstract

The Arab/Islamic cultural scene today is witnessing a debate movement enlivened by discourses centered on women's and feminist issues in the contemporary Islamic system, which has become one of the central issues that calls for serious reflections that extend to its history marked by concealment and absence, and its present described as a rebellious consciousness that seeks liberation. It is the woman's self-awareness that seeks legitimacy, striving towards institutionalization within what has become known as feminist discourse, the feminist ego that echoes the statements of alienation and male domination by virtue of religious/Islamic discourse. This tense relationship compels us to return to the roots of the issue. It is true that the Arab/Islamic historical experience has given us a feminist heritage that does not serve contemporary women.
