Abstract

As an academic dedicated to the study of Algerian art and local culture, my objective in this modest work is to raise fundamental cultural questions, such as: What is happening with Algerian painting today? To assess the situation on the ground, it was necessary to meet with Algerian art professionals, specifically Algerian painters, to spend time with them, to share their exhibitions, opening nights, and even to spend hours in their studios. Furthermore, it was essential to analyze as many articles as possible published in specialized national and international journals, consult local newspapers, and read books on art by specialists in Algerian painting, since this is indeed about the contemporary pictorial image of Algerian visual art.
