Abstract
Abu al-Qasim Haj Hamad (1942-2004), the Sudanese thinker, is considered one of the leading figures of contemporary Arab-Islamic thought. His thinking was driven by the difficult and complex conditions of Muslim societies. Therefore, he directed his thought towards shedding light on the origins and sources of Islamic civilization in its early phase, attempting to revive and breathe new life into it in light of contemporary intellectual developments. This included all the new concepts and philosophical visions produced by scientific and methodological revolutions, which express the spirit of the age. However, between openness to the modern age and a return to the original sources, it is difficult to resolve matters definitively, especially when it comes to a new reading of the Quran that aligns with contemporary philosophies, with the aim of Islamizing knowledge. This is a dilemma that reflects the fragmentation experienced by Arab-Islamic consciousness, which this thinker expresses in the dialectic of the unseen, humanity, and nature. These are the elements through which he attempts to renew Islamic thought on the one hand, and correct the course of contemporary global thought on the other, all by presenting a new reading of the Quran. The question we will discuss and analyze in this research paper for this conference is: What are the aims of the project of Islamic globalism? Secondly, what is behind it the project of Islamizing knowledge?
