Abstract

Orientalist studies have had a great impact in formulating European perceptions of Islam, treating Islamic manuscripts with analysis and criticism, and shaping Western attitudes toward Islam over many centuries. This is because the Orientalist movement was and still is an intellectual background in reading the Arab-Islamic heritage to clarify and select the most important knowledge and scientific and philosophical approaches that serve European civilization and crystallize an idea that represents a strong foundation and starting point that cannot be abandoned. Thus, we find that Orientalist studies require us to take a serious and conscious contemplative pause and study its dimensions and impacts on the Islamic heritage. Therefore, we tried to focus our research on addressing the problem of the Orientalist position towards our Arab-Islamic heritage, its beliefs and philosophy, highlighting the background of this analysis and everything related to the importance of these philosophical manuscripts that constitute the intellectual and historical pillar, revealing the important aspects that make up them, achieving the Arab-Islamic self, and coexistence with the other.
