Abstract

The book "Al-Mawaqif fi Ba'd Isharat al-Qur'an ila al-Asrar wa al-Ma'arif" (The Stations in Some Indications of the Qur'an to Secrets and Knowledge) is the book that the great French Orientalist Jacques Berque described, saying, "The literary brilliance of many passages in Al-Mawaqif may overturn several established beliefs, and true renaissance may not be found where it is sought." It is the same book that the eldest son of Emir Abdelkader, Sayyid Muhammad Pasha, described (about his father and his book): "He excelled in the arts of Sharia and Sufism, and he has many works, and Al-Mawaqif fi 'Ilm al-Haqiqa (The Stations in the Science of Sufism) suffices as an example. Its composition is the cornerstone of the system, and the beginning of its glory is the heart of the poem and the perfect conclusion. Whoever examines his speeches closely will recognize his excellence and acknowledge his high rank." He also said of him, "He has a lofty position, a long reach, and a firm foundation in the art of Sufism, and his noble 'Mawaqif' is the most just witness to the perfection of his taste in those stations and scenes, proving that he excelled in all arts and gathered what was scattered in others of the finest qualities." Within the pages of Emir Abdelkader's Al-Mawaqif are texts that allude to the doctrine of monotheism, according to the taste and method of the Sufi masters and the teachings of a sheikh. The great Sufi master, Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi al-Hatimi al-Andalusi, will be the subject of our research paper, which we will attempt to compile and present. Our contribution will be indexed as follows: 1- An overview of the book "Al-Mawaqif fi Ba'd Isharat al-Qur'an ila al-Asrar wa al-Ma'arif" (The Stations in Some Indications of the Qur'an to Secrets and Knowledge). 2- Creed and monotheism in the texts of "Al-Mawaqif". 3- Some mystical and epistemological principles that establish and frame the creed and monotheism in the texts of "Al-Mawaqif". a- The principle: "There is nothing in existence except God and His manifestations." b- The principle: "Manifestation does not repeat itself." c- The principle: "None knows God except God." d- The principle: "The God of beliefs."
