Abstract

This paper explores the relationship between Algerian public television and local cultural heritage by examining the content related to the various aspects and elements of this heritage, which it attempts to highlight through specific time slots and program segments. After reviewing the programming schedule of Algerian television across its various channels, we selected the program "My Country's Heritage," a program entirely dedicated to Algerian cultural heritage, broadcast on the "Algerian Third" channel. We employed content analysis techniques on a sample of its episodes, chosen to represent the four regions of the country (East, West, North, South, and Central). Therefore, the central question was: "What are the representations and aspirations of Algerian public television, as expressed through the program 'My Country's Heritage,' regarding the components of local cultural heritage?"
