Abstract
Michel Serres sought to develop epistemology into an anthropology of science in order to uncover the hidden roots of scientific knowledge. To this end, he adopted a method of connecting all forms of knowledge, whether scientific or non-scientific, including popular, archaic, and mythological, without dismissing any of them. He argued that knowledge is not the exclusive domain of the so-called natural sciences but extends to other fields such as myths and stories. Through this project, he also advocated for the necessity of controlling control (human control over nature), which, in his view, could only be achieved by combining nature and culture, and nature and industry.
