Abstract
The relationship between Islamic theology (Kalam), Sufism, and jurisprudence (Fiqh) has been the subject of numerous debates and studies. These have sought to identify points of overlap and intersection between theological and Sufi discourse. Given the accumulated knowledge in this area, this scholarly gathering aims to revisit questions surrounding this relationship. Ultimately, these questions culminate in an analysis that defines the essence of Islamic theology and Sufism as two fields of knowledge that frame questions of existence and humanity, striving to renew perspectives on life and allow for diverse viewpoints. In this sense, Islamic theology and Sufism are epistemological frameworks that do not merely address the surface of things, but rather delve into fundamental questions that penetrate the depths of human experience. The approach to researching the relationship between Islamic theology and Sufism transcends traditional approaches. It is founded on points of reference that go beyond simply identifying the differences and similarities between the nature of theological and Sufi discourse and their overlap. Instead, it explores the depths of both discourses to understand their respective natures in terms of subject matter, language, and perspective.
