Abstract

Through this research paper, we attempt to familiarize ourselves with the characteristics and features of Algerian theater and to define its relationship to popular heritage, in that it has expressed the aspirations, hopes, and pains of its citizens. Theatrical creations were born from the womb of suffering and struggle to gain freedom. Indeed, it is the glorious history of the nation and its past. Therefore, interest in popular heritage was the basis for creating an authentic art that expresses a past that has passed and a dying present.
