Abstract
. This research endeavors to examine the relationship between the critique of religious thought and the call for the renewal of the theology through the method of the Iranian researcher Muhammed Mojtahid Shabestari, and aims to shed light on his position in the criticism of religious thought and his call for the renewal of theology. As a matter of fact, he called for the need to take into account the major transformations that have affected the reality of global societies, in addition to giving philosophical and scientific vision and theories their value if we want about a new theology
