Al-Tadwin Journal appears on schedule to publish Volume 16, Issue 01 for the year 2024, continuing its path since its inception. This issue is dedicated to the late Professor Berriah Mokhtar, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Oran 2, in recognition of his contributions to philosophy locally and globally. May peace and blessings be upon his noble soul.

As is customary, the articles in this issue vary in terms of the topics addressed and the languages written by Algerian researchers who have contributed and excelled in their arguments. This is in addition to the contributions of several Arab researchers presenting distinguished and diverse papers within the pages of this issue.

This issue contains articles related to the renewal of religious discourse and the philosophy of religion. It presents concepts on the critique of religious thought and the renewal of Kalam (Islamic scholastic theology), as well as intellectuals' perspectives on the dilemmas of religious discourse and the mechanisms for its renewal. Additionally, it features an article on the Orientalist approach to the critique of exegesis (Tafsir) texts, another on contemporary readings of the Holy Qur'an under the test of epistemological critique, an approach to the crisis of contemporary jurisprudence-based religious discourse in light of modernity, and an inquiry into Sufi renewal within the Shadhili school.

In addition to this major theme on the philosophy of religion and its approaches, the issue includes another article on human dignity in the face of the challenges posed by converging technologies.
