Abstract

The most serious challenges facing the health sector and international law are the spread of epidemics that threaten all of humanity, especially in light of technological developments in communication and the speed of its spread, which has increased the challenges of international law in combating misinformation that spreads rapidly, which in turn causes panic among individuals and affects the state and society as a whole, leaving international law with a gap between the right to access information and communication and the right to global health security. This article aims to highlight the international legal framework for addressing the phenomenon of misinformation during pandemics and to analyse its impact on the right to communication and global health security. One of the most important conclusions reached is that striking a balance between freedom of communication and health security requirements requires the development of clearer and more effective international legal rules to combat misinformation
