Abstract
Culture cannot be discussed apart from language. Language is the expression of the human self to others, a distinguishing feature of one nation or people from another. It is also a system of signs and symbols with diverse meanings, unique to humankind. Language is a manifestation of intellectual, sensory, and motor development. It is a system of sounds and a means of communication and expression, transmitting civilization from one generation to the next. Therefore, language is a cultural value because speakers express their own identity and the identity of others through its use. This use represents a symbol of their individual and social identity, and preventing its use is a rejection of this identity. For this reason, many philosophers and researchers, such as Claire Kramish, consider the issue of language today to be a matter of modernity, and modernity necessitates participation: participation in existence and participation in destiny.
