In this third issue of the Al-Anwar book, we publish the proceedings of the international symposium organized by the Laboratory of Philosophy and Its History, directed by Prof. Dr. Moulfi Mohamed in 2006. The aesthetics research team—composed at the time of Bencherki Benmeziane, Mounir Bahadi, and Abdellah Abdellaoui—organized the symposium on aesthetics titled "The Socio-Cultural Stakes of the Arts," with Prof. Bencherki Benmeziane presiding over both the organizing and scientific committees.

During these Days of Aesthetics at the University of Oran, we propose reflecting on the terrain and stakes of the arts amidst social and cultural transformations, based on the idea that the innovative dimension of art lies in its openness to possibilities, the creation of new conceptions, and the continuous search for meaning. Today, we all agree that when art obeys none but its own laws, it inevitably frees itself from all forms of guardianship. Yet this autonomy of the arts does not create a rupture with shared living spaces. On the contrary, art can serve as a liberating trajectory that enables us to view society as a dynamic, open space, and culture itself as an ever-renewed creation.
