The historical dimension and the cultural, ethnic and religious impact of the pilgrimage routes in Africa

This research aimed to introduce the historical dimension of the pilgrimage routes in Africa and their cultural، ethnic and religious impact on African societies، as this effect of pilgrimage routes created cultural activity and social mobility for the African population، which necessitated the study of this activity in its historical dimension and its cultural، ethnic and religious impact. The study follows the descriptive and analytical historical research method.

The most important findings of the research are that the pilgrimage routes in Africa have the greatest role in the issue of the Islamic civilizational transformation in Africa culturally، ethnically and religiously، as it seemed clear in the manifestations of civilizational، cultural، intellectual، religious and ethnic urbanization through the connection of Africans with the Arab and Islamic world.
